Week2 - Alia - Less internet access but still powering along

I finished the first pass of this deck today! Ill have a LOT to review in the next few days. hopefully I can get them into long-term memory by the end of the month :)

And to show I have been working at it:

Tip from anki doco - Don't try too hard

Studies have shown that it's more productive to review material again if it's too difficult to recall. If the answer to a card doesn't come to you within a couple of seconds, you should probably fail it and review it later, instead of struggling to recall the answer.

Day 10 - Alia - Yes im a slacker! Im down 2 hours of study still after an hour already today.

I will catch up!!!! I just have to do:

• +2 missed days * 1 hour 
• + 0.5 hours that I forgot to add for my first missed day 
• + .5 hour for today 
• - 1 hour of study.

Day 7 - Alia - Week 1 Complete!

OK I suck!

I was so tired from a weekend of crazy partying that I didnt make yesterdays post... therefore I owe 30 minutes PLUS todays worth.  To make it up I did an hour today and I will do another hour tomorrow.

Here is the week in review (click for larger image):

I already have noticed that a few of the new words I learnt in the first few days are starting to come to me a lot quicker.  Also I have had to up the number of new cards to 45 a day to keep up to my burn rate.  Its lots of fun, but one thing I will do different next time I start a new deck is to not review the cards in random order. They seem to be placed in a specific order .. without which sometimes its extra confusing.

I didn't realize that I was going for so long. Probably using it as a distraction from Uni work :)

Day 6 - Alia - The wedding was beautiful!

Didnt think I would have time today.. but what do ya know.. 30 minutes can be fit :)  Andrew and MC's wedding was wonderful.  I didn't even draw any blood when I pinned the vail on :P

Now, lets go party! :D

So. Even though I have an assignment to write and billions of pages to read, and a nephew to keep company...I still do this

Day 4 - Alia

Lots of new words today.. but lucky me I knew them already :) the sentences and kanji make it hard though so its still fun.

Day 3 - Maha

I don't really know if it is helping. When it comes up with everything written and said then asks for an answer... What I am meant to be looking at? I have however, noticed that there are dictionary forms of things and stuff. Other than that, I think I am just recognizing the sentences-i.e. the one about the children making a racket on the train or the one about if the person understands the question. Maybe it isn't the best way for me to learn. Or maybe it is that I have uni work to do?

Day 2- with extra time

Extra time as penance for missing yesterday's session due to falling asleep at the computer... I also kept closing it to see how long I had been doing it for and I think that made it do something weird with the "Cards/ Session" bit?

Day 3 - Alia : It got harder :D

I caught up to my reviews, unfortunately it means I have a bunch of new kanji to learn. oh well... onwards and upwards!

so. I discovered how to do the screen shots -I was still confused when it wouldn't work... but the Kanji stuff... are we testing on that tooooooo?

Day 01 - Alia

Today was interesting, I have a lot of cards in my deck that need cleaning out.. Ill try to do so over the next few days so that I feel like I'm making progress :)  Also I should get up 15 minutes earlier.. because now I'm running late!

Starting from... 8th of August 2011.
However: I don't know how to do a screen shot. I suppose I shall find out.

First stab at the rules...

Lucky for us Anki has some good features about how much we studied each day.  We will post screenshots every day or every few days to show that we have been doing so.  Also we will write a comment each time to say how we felt about each days study.  After the 30 days are over we will see how we think our progress has been.
